Just in case you feel like giving the comic a little bit of extra support, Mindfold is now on Patreon

Mindfold issues one and two are now available on comixology

If you have a few minutes to spare, maybe try checking out Tusk, my other comic here on Comic Fury. It's in the fantasy genre, but it's a bit more light-hearted and silly than Mindfold. Tusk updates about every 10 days.

I'm still going for a Corben / Heavy Metal vibe after all these years! (With a bit of Moebius thrown in for good measure)

Air attack imminent, flush the fleet...SCRAMBLESCRAMBLESCRAMBLE
This is a no duff Scramble, pilots to your planes, start crews to the line, I repeat SCRAMBLESCRAMBLESCRAMBLE
Now if I had a dollar for every time I heard that on exercise...
Except for the 'no duff' part we only got to hear that in the QRA...at 0darkhundred
Staarted a VooDoo in shorts and one slipper at 0300 once :)

It will be the same thing here, but with steam engines!

I love the imagination that shows through in your work. This is yet another arrestingly beautiful page.
Oldarmourer 15th Jun 2022, 9:03 AM
The stained glass window look on the main section is a work of art, landing it on those tiny wheels without breaking it into a few million pieces is going to be a task of unimaginable proportions though.

Stained glass? It looks more like intricate metal work too me, but I could certainly be wrong. Either way, you're right, it's definitely a work of art! :)
Oldarmourer 16th Jun 2022, 6:12 AM
Metalwork would be even worse, at least stained glass is set in lead so there's some flexibility to it.
Thracecius 16th Jun 2022, 3:07 PM
Thracecius
Steel is quite flexible depending on the alloy and also more durable and lighter than lead, which I would think would be more important in an aircraft. Not arguing that you're wrong, just that I am operating under the assumption that they want decorative & functional without sacrificing safety and durability.

The whole plane is made of a kind of magically reinforced chitin, so the whole thing is slightly flexible

Let's go fly a chitin.

@Thraecius: It's a type of glass, for sure, but it's just plain old clear glass

@Oldarmourer: Luckily, it is a very slow-flying airplane. That very fat wing is actually filled with helium, so the whole thing is kind of a cross between an airplane and a zeppelin

I could probably make some kind of airship-related pun here, but I'll restrain myself.

They are tired of waiting around for a cooperative progenitor, and they are taking matters into their own hands!

So what do you call an air battle between cats and manta rays? ^^

Once again, may I call your attention to the TWC voting banner at the top of the Comment
Section? Minefold is far too good a comic to not be higher in the rankings. :)

Mindfold deserves to rate at least as highly as tusk, something on which I'm fervently working. I wish those voting for Tusk who ignore Mindfold would mend their ways.
Delta-v 20th Jun 2022, 8:19 PM
I'll second that! :)

What a gorgeous airship that is... I'm a little uncertain about the thickness of the wings, but to heck with it... it's beautiful!

The airship design was inspired by musings on a "Thermal Glidoon" (See paragraph 4) By David E.H. Jones

Which was a tongue-in-cheek speculation on an airplane-like contraption with wings that were filled with a buoyant gas. This would give it some constant innate lift, but at the price of a slow speed.

I used to vote religiously on topweb, as many times a day as I could, usually at least six times, ofetn more, on various devices and logins and from different locations.
Then it leaked out that the position on topweb depended more on how much you paid them for 'advertising' than any amount of votes and I stopped completely.
The kicker was when comics that used to be on the sixth or seventh page and weren't really that good vaulted into the 'top ten' with twenty and thirty thousand votes a day and an empty comments section.
It just cheapens it for ones like this that deserve a high standing but will never get it without paying for it.

Full disclosure: There were about 3 months in 2020 where I paid for an ad on TWC, but I don't any more. I paid for the cheapest option, $1.- a day, just to see what happens. It usually put me up about 3 to 4 ranks. Now I just prefer to let the votes fall where they may. I would speculate that those who paid for the higher tiers of advertising got much more significant returns.
